Happy Tamil New Year and Happy Vishu

For the folks who celebrated Tamil New Year on Chitirai Thirunal on April 14, Happy Tamil New Year.

For folks who are celebrating Vishu today, Happy Vishu.

The controversy regarding celebration of Tamil New Year on April 14 is unwarranted.

Let the individual decide when one wants to do what:)

Not the individuals, dude, but the religion in particular. Pseudoatheists and Hindu abusers like Karuna should not play with the Hindu beliefs and customs - this Tamil New Year day change being one of many examples, though for the second year in a row, he has been snubbed rightly by the Hindus here. Let him try changing (or just say that he intends to do so) the festival dates involving other religions.

I agree with you Tornado.
He keeps indulging in vote bank politics.

So April 14 is Hindus New Year - NOT Tamil New Year. That's the reason Kalignar has rightly snubbed the term TAMIL NEW YEAR on April, and moved it to JANUARY 14, where it belongs.

Say "HAPPY HINDU NEW YEAR" on April 14, if you're a Sindhu!

Some people never learn!

You are free to celebrate whatever you want whenever you want!

But I am not going to go back against my statement!

If you'd mentioned it's me. Then I would say that give a one valid reason WHY the hell I should learn false/superstitious/inhumane beliefs.

What I am saying is: keep the superstitions and slogas with you, and don't mock others who don't want to hear about them.

God help me!

To answer your question,

Tamil Chrisitians celebrate New Year on Jan-1.

Tamil Muslims, well I have no clue!

Tamil Hindus have been celebrating Tamil New Year for a long long time on April-14.

Diktats issued by political leaders are followed by people who are moved by political emotions.

No one is asking you to follow any superstitions.

You are a free citizen of this land and you can do what you want!

Remember your first e-mail which started this whole controversy.

You were the one who called everyone celebrating April-14 as fools, I did not!

I respect your feelings of when you want to celebrate what! So stop cribbing and forcing your ideologies on others.

My post very clearly wishes people who are celebrating New Year on April-14, I am not against anyone who is not!

So enjoy life and have fun!

Where are you staying now?
Have you found an apartment?
How is Sudha?
How is married life treating the two of you?

Wishing the both of you all the best!
